Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains how the Gravity Notes mobile application (the "App") handles information. The App is designed to be offline-first, with local storage and no required account registration.

Plain-language summary
Gravity Notes stores your notes locally on your device. It does not require creating an account. You can export/import your data for backups, and you can delete your data at any time using in-app options.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Gravity Notes mobile application and related pages that reference it. It describes how information is processed when you use the App. If you install or use the App, you agree to this Policy.

2. Information we handle

2.1 Information you create in the App

The App processes the information you choose to enter, including:

  • Note content (text you write)
  • Note titles
  • Categories (Personal, Work, Ideas, Todo)
  • Favorites (notes you mark as favorite)
  • Color labels (the App offers multiple color options for organization)

2.2 App settings and preferences

The App stores your selected preferences locally, which may include:

  • Theme selection (Light, Dark, or Auto following system)
  • Font size (Small, Medium, Large)
  • Font style (Default, Serif, Monospace)
  • Auto-save setting (on or off)
  • Sort preference (for example by date, title, or category)

2.3 Backups you choose to create

If you use export/import functionality, the App will generate or read a backup file containing your notes and related metadata. Exported backups are controlled by you. Where the backup is stored depends on how your device handles files and any services you choose.

2.4 Information we do not require

The App is designed so you do not need to provide:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or other contact information
  • Account credentials (no login required)
  • Payment information
Important
Gravity Notes is offline-first and uses local storage. There is no built-in cloud sync feature.

3. How information is used

The App uses information solely to provide its features, including:

  • Creating, editing, displaying, and deleting notes
  • Providing search across titles and content, including real-time filtering by text, category, and favorites
  • Organizing notes by categories, favorites, colors, and sorting preferences
  • Supporting auto-save and unsaved-changes protection
  • Enabling optional export/import for backups and restores

4. Storage and security

4.1 Local storage

Gravity Notes stores data locally on your device (for example, via local persistent storage such as AsyncStorage). Because storage is local, uninstalling the App typically removes local App data, depending on your device and OS behavior.

4.2 Security

We strive to use reasonable technical measures to protect locally stored data within the App. However, no method of storage is completely secure. Protect your device using OS-level security features such as a lock screen, biometrics, and secure backups.

5. Sharing and third parties

5.1 No sale of personal data

We do not sell your personal information.

5.2 Third-party services

Gravity Notes is designed to function without requiring third-party services to process your notes. If you choose to export backups, share files, or store backups using third-party apps or cloud drives available on your device, those third parties may process your data under their own policies.

5.3 Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request. Because the App is offline-first and local, there may be limited information available to disclose.

6. Device permissions

The App may request certain permissions depending on how features are implemented on your device and OS version. Examples may include:

  • Storage / Files access to export or import backup files

You can typically manage app permissions in your device settings. If you deny a permission, some features (such as backup import/export) may not work.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please remove the data from the device and discontinue use.

8. Your choices and controls

  • Access: You can view and edit your notes at any time within the App.
  • Delete notes: You can delete individual notes in the App.
  • Clear all data: You can use the in-app "Clear all data" option (with confirmation) to remove local App data.
  • Backups: You can export your data for backups and import backups to restore your notes.
  • Uninstall: You can remove the App to stop its operation and typically remove stored data from your device.

9. International users

Gravity Notes may be available globally. Because the App is offline-first and stores data locally, most data processing occurs on your device. If you use third-party services (for example, to store exported backups), your data may be processed in other countries under those services’ policies.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when changes were made. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated Policy.

11. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact the publisher via the contact details provided on the App’s Play Store listing.
